MINEHEAD and SSU
We first met Sarah-Jane Umfreville and Kate Kennedy in March 2023 at a monthly meeting in Minehead. At that time, SSU had not yet worked with either the Watchet hub or Sarah-Jane in Minehead. But even then, Sarah-Jane impressed SSU so much with the results of her extraordinary work, as she was covering the needs of about 50 people on her own, that our organisation could not stand aside and not help. As SSU's goal is to support organisations that help Ukrainians throughout Somerset and the BANEs, we found a way to financially help this amazing lady so that she can continue to support Ukrainians in Minehead. This time we met up for a Crabbing evening. Children and adults were delighted. We even met a fisherman who caught a small shark which was released after the photo shoot.
