UPDATE on UKRAINIAN DRIVING LICENCES in the UK

Previously, we provided the procedure to replace a Ukrainian driving licence with a British licence. However, due to changes in UK legislation, this is no longer required.
As a result of the consultation on the renewal of Ukrainian driving licences in the UK, the UK government has introduced the following changes to the legislation:
If you are in the UK on one of the Ukraine Visa Schemes (Ukraine Family Scheme, Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Extension Scheme) and hold a driving licence issued in Ukraine that allows you to drive Category A (motorcycle) and Category B (passenger car - automatic, manual) vehicles, you are entitled to drive such vehicles with your Ukrainian driving licence in the UK for three years from the date of your first entry into the country.

These changes came into force on 7 July 2023. Please note that they only apply to holders of Ukrainian driving licences residing in England, Scotland and Wales. This law does not apply to Ukrainians residing in Northern Ireland.
